Bragg Creek Ranch Engagement Shoot - Brooke & Layton

Some love stories are meant to come full circle, and Brook and Layton’s journey is one of them. I first met this incredible couple a year and a half before their engagement shoot when we did a couple’s session at Layton’s family farm. It was a day full of life and adventure, surrounded by the wild horses that Layton, as a professional buck and bronco rider, holds close to his heart. That shoot was the start of something special, and I was beyond thrilled when they asked me to capture their engagement and wedding as well.

Fast forward to the present, and Brook and Layton have built a beautiful life together. They bought a ranch in the Bragg Creek area, a place that has quickly become their home. With their love of horses and the great outdoors, it was only fitting that they wanted their engagement photos taken on the property of their new home—a place that holds so much meaning for them.

We planned the shoot for a crisp spring evening in March, right at sunset. The air was cool, but the atmosphere was warm with excitement and love. As we explored their property, we brought the horses up to a mountain that overlooked the valley. The view was breathtaking, and it felt like a full-circle moment—standing on their own land, surrounded by the life they’ve built together, with their future ahead of them.

As the sun dipped lower, casting a golden glow over everything, we celebrated with a champagne toast. It was a magical moment, one that perfectly captured their connection, their shared past, and their excitement for the future. We talked about their journey together, the adventures they’ve had, and the wedding that’s just around the corner—a wedding that will also be held at their ranch, marking yet another full-circle moment in their love story.

The evening ended with us sitting on top of the hill, watching the sun set over the valley. It was one of those rare, perfect moments where everything feels just right—a moment that I know Brook and Layton will cherish for years to come.
